This unrealized proposal for the Vodafone building on Leipzigerplatz 14 investigates the transformative potential of a found condition. The existing fireproofing material – a fortuitous composition of gypsum board – is reframed as a raw canvas for material exploration. A network of interconnected yet disjunctive angular stairs navigates the vertical space, their form echoing the distorted surfaces overhead. This interplay between the meandering stairs and the amplified ceiling texture erodes the distinction between interior and exterior, transforming the ceiling into a dynamic element that interacts with the urban context. The accidental becomes intentional, the overlooked becomes a field for architectural investigation.
