Lankwitz Beech Footer: a dual-purpose object born from leftover beech wood. Primarily a footrest designed to alleviate back pain while seated at a desk, it also functions as a stepper, extending reach by 245mm.

Three 40mm-thick solid beech boards, joined with tongue-and-groove dado cuts, reveal the simplicity of construction. Table saw cuts, deeper on final passes, create a distinctive gap feature in the joinery.

A humble object, yet functional and elegant in its simplicity. Beech Footer embodies the ethos of resourcefulness and utility.
