Getting the last bits and chunks of a salad with a spoon is apparently quite challenging. The chunk surfaces seem to stick to the surface of the bowl and sliding them up the bowl towards the rim risks the chunk falling out of the bowl instead of into your spoon. To ease this stress, I wanted a bowl with a 1-3mm inward “lip” at its rim, but a 15 minute search online returned no successful results. One day while walking to work I noticed a Sculpture Club sign outside of a building and ended up in a Wednesday evening Workshop, which resulted in a bowl with a hand-formed lip, plus several other experiments that followed. Here we have presented two such bowl experiments.
